What is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is a medication that mimics the effects of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that helps regulate blood sugar and appetite. This medication can increase insulin production to lower blood sugar in patients with type 2 diabetes and reduce your appetite which may promote weight loss. It is typically used in conjunction with diet and exercise.

AN ALTERNATIVE TO INJECTIONS

Compounded Semaglutide

Many patients have heard about the beneficial effects of semaglutide; reduction of A1C and weight. Unfortunately, patients have not been able to experience these benefits due to cost and difficulty obtaining the medication due to national shortages. Granger Pharmacy has formulated a suspension that is placed under the tongue and requires no needles. Our formulation is compounded with commercially available Rybelsus® (semaglutide) tablets and SUBMAGNA™ SL HMW base, which ensures patients are receiving a safe and effective medication.

In the best interest of our patients, Granger Pharmacy will not compound injectable semaglutide due to concerns regarding quality of raw semaglutide, even if it is sourced from FDA-registered facilities.

Administration made easy

Ditch the needles. Injectable semaglutide was developed to achieve therapeutic effect by skipping the first pass effect, the body’s way of naturally metabolizing medications.

By using SUBMAGNA™ SL HMW, a specially formulated suspension vehicle for sublingual (under the tongue) administration, patients may be able achieve their healthcare goals without the painful injections. The medication is placed under the tongue and allowed to sit for 90 seconds. Holding the dose for longer than 90 seconds may increase absorption. Results may vary.
